Join Deriva Energy’s 2027 Summer Intern Program, where you’ll work on meaningful projects, learn from experienced professionals, and build connections that can launch your career.
This program will begin on May 24th and conclude early August.
Our intern program will be based at Deriva Energy Headquarters located in Charlotte, NC.
We’re seeking motivated students for 10 week intern program across multiple disciplines:
- Engineering – Work with our technical teams to solve real-world challenges in renewable energy, grid modernization, and system performance.
- Project Management – Learn how we deliver complex projects on time, on budget, and with impact.
- Procurement & Supply Chain – Gain exposure to supplier management, sourcing strategies, and global logistics.
- Information Technology & Cybersecurity – Support innovative IT solutions and help protect our digital infrastructure.
- Computer & Data Science – Analyze large data sets and develop insights to drive smarter business decisions.
- Finance & Accounting – Contribute to financial planning, reporting, and analysis that guide strategic decisions.
- Development – Explore how renewable energy projects move from concept to construction. Work alongside our development teams on early-stage project siting, land acquisition, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and GIS mapping to identify and evaluate new project opportunities.
- External Affairs, Communications & Marketing – Support initiatives that strengthen our relationships with communities, policymakers, and stakeholders. Gain experience in communications strategy, marketing campaigns, public affairs, community engagement, and renewable energy advocacy.
- Human Resources – Explore projects across talent acquisition, employee experience, and organizational development.

Required/Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related program aligned with functional interests shared above
- Must not graduate prior to August 2027
Desired Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Rising junior or senior students
- Strong communication skills and comfort speaking in front of executive teams and groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
