Job Details
We are currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Permanent Estimator in the Civil/Grading/Utilities sector of the Construction industry. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in the cost management and budgeting of our diverse construction projects.
This role requires a deep understanding of construction, civil, grading, and utility construction, as well as strong skills in blueprint reading and material take-out (MTO).
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role and a strong track record of delivering accurate and timely estimates.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed analysis of construction documents, designs, and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists for project execution.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to provide detailed estimates and cost forecasts.Utilize expertise in civil, grading, and utilities construction to provide accurate and competitive estimates.Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.Present prepared estimates for internal and client approvals.Monitor industry trends to help anticipate potential cost increases.Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Minimum of five years of experience as an Estimator in the Construction industry, specifically in civil, grading, and utilities construction.Proficient in cost management and budgeting.Strong skills in blueprint reading and material take-out (MTO).Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.Proficient in relevant software applications, including MS Office and estimating software.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.Knowledge of the local market and suppliers is a plus.Equal Opportunity EmployerJobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
