Abernethy Contracting Site Manager

Abernethy Contracting is looking for an experienced, diligent, and team focused Site Manager. This position will work with a team of heavy civil construction professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Total ownership of projects
    • Attend project handoff meetings
    • Mastery of Plans
    • Fully comprehend scope of work, proposals, budgets, and client schedule/expectations
    • Coordinate onsite Precon Meetings
    • Drive communication
  • Materials, Subcontractor and Vendor Management
    • Release materials/schedule deliveries that maximize efficiency
    • Communicate, schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities effectively
    • Verify and schedule construction staking needs
    • Validate accuracy for utilities/concrete scopes
  • Jobsite Leadership
    • Support field crews, secure emergency material, act as an intermediary with inspectors, etc.
    • Review and coordinate corrective actions in response to erosion inspection reports
    • Coordinate all required inspections and testing
    • Work with superintendents to schedule crews
    • Be present on-site during critical phases and activities
    • Formulate RFIs in the field and submit through proper channels
    • Document evidentiary information related to scope changes, CORs, etc.
  • Master Progress Views
    • Create and update progress plans
  • Project Close Out
    • Ensure client receives operating manuals and warranty documentation as required
    • Manage internal/client punch lists required to complete job
    • Job Walk Evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of sitework, including grading, paving and utilities.
  • Five years of Site Manager experience.
  • Direct experience working on active job sites.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
  • Unyielding commitment to safe work practices.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to use smartphone and iPad.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
