HVAC Preconstruction Estimator

Salary: $60,000 - $130,000 per year

• Estimate mid‑to‑large commercial and institutional HVAC projects.
• Obtain equipment, material, and subcontractor buyouts.
• Work with superintendents and project managers to ensure bids are accurate.
• Ensure bids are submitted within required deadlines.
• Maintain a working knowledge of HVAC and construction standards.
• Read, understand and use provided plans and specifications to determine accurately estimated cost of jobs.
• Use company estimating tools to provide consistent estimates.
• Read all plans and specifications prior to bidding and create accurate cost estimates.
• Negotiate pricing with vendors.
• Bid jobs that come in at estimated costs correctly.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred, paired with a minimum of 3 to 5 years estimating large commercial HVAC jobs.
• Familiar with state building codes, OSHPD, ASHRAE standards.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
