Seeking Chief Estimator will lead the estimating department and oversee all estimating activities for commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, and multi-family construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and competitive bids while collaborating with project management, operations, and pre-construction teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the estimating team.
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and final construction cost estimates.
  • Review plans, specifications, and perform quantity take-offs.
  • Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Develop bid strategies, project scopes, and schedules.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and constructability concerns.
  • Coordinate with project managers, operations, and pre-construction teams.
  • Present estimates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Maintain historical cost databases and estimating standards.
  • Support business development efforts and client presentations.
  • Mentor and develop junior estimators.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience estimating commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, or multi-family construction projects.
  • Expertise in quantity take-offs, cost estimating, bid preparation, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital take-off tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience leading estimating teams and coordinating cross-functional efforts.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, subcontractor trades, building codes, and market pricing.
  • Experience with conceptual estimating, value engineering, and pre-construction budgeting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
