Seeking Chief Estimator will lead the estimating department and oversee all estimating activities for commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, and multi-family construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and competitive bids while collaborating with project management, operations, and pre-construction teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the estimating team.
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, and final construction cost estimates.
- Review plans, specifications, and perform quantity take-offs.
- Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Develop bid strategies, project scopes, and schedules.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and constructability concerns.
- Coordinate with project managers, operations, and pre-construction teams.
- Present estimates and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain historical cost databases and estimating standards.
- Support business development efforts and client presentations.
- Mentor and develop junior estimators.
- Strong experience estimating commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, or multi-family construction projects.
- Expertise in quantity take-offs, cost estimating, bid preparation, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital take-off tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience leading estimating teams and coordinating cross-functional efforts.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, subcontractor trades, building codes, and market pricing.
- Experience with conceptual estimating, value engineering, and pre-construction budgeting.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
