Estimator​/Project Manager

Metric Geo is partnered with one of the Southeast's leading heavy civil contractors to identify an Estimator / Project Manager for their growing Charlotte operation.

With a strong backlog of transportation, site development, utility, and civil infrastructure work across the Carolinas, our client is seeking a versatile construction professional capable of leading projects from pursuit through completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the preconstruction and operations side of the business and wants direct ownership of projects from bid to closeout.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Develop bid strategies and participate in proposal submissions.
• Manage awarded projects through buyout, scheduling, and execution.
• Track project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Support change order management and project closeout activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

• Roadway and highway construction
• Earthwork and grading
• Utility installation (water, sewer, storm)
• Transportation infrastructure
• Heavy civil construction projects throughout the Carolinas

• 5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, or a hybrid Estimator/PM role.
• Heavy civil, utility, transportation, or infrastructure construction experience required.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
• Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and cost control.
• Ability to manage projects from bid phase through completion.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
