Construction Project Manager

Position Summary:

New Atlantic is a leading commercial construction company known for our commitment to quality, safety, and integrity. We serve a wide range of clients across North Carolina and Southern Virginia in education, healthcare, commercial, and institutional markets.

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist the project team with various aspects of managing the project.

• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases, etc.
• Prepare and review submittals, and RFIs (Requests for Information), and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage contractor information, including maintaining tracking logs, documenting deliverables, establishing project files, and tracking action items.
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedule and interact will all involved in scheduling decision processes.
• Coordinate and attend progress meetings and construction meetings.
• Create and distribute meeting agendas, meeting notes, and spreadsheets for O&M (Operations and Maintenance) manuals, spare parts, training, testing, and supporting documentation.
• Remain current with all projects including details, issues, schedules, difficulties, costs, and subcontractor issues.
• Oversee and ensure contractor compliance with design documents, contract drawings, and specifications.
• Understand all contracts, subcontracts, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and local codes.
• Assist with change order estimating.
• Conduct punch list inspections before and after the Owner/Architect to ensure contract compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management
• 3-6 years of relevant internship or construction management experience
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with managers, co-workers, and subcontractors
• Multi-tasking with a sense of urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
