Position Summary:

New Atlantic is a leading commercial construction company known for our commitment to quality, safety, and integrity. We serve a wide range of clients across North Carolina and Southern Virginia in education, healthcare, commercial, and institutional markets.

We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial projects in the Charlotte market. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on field leader who can independently run a project site, drive the schedule, and uphold New Atlantic’s standards for safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary decision maker on day‑to‑day running of the project site.
  • Assist in the preparation of the construction schedule and sequences of work. Maintain the project schedule by developing and implementing recovery strategies.
  • Schedule, deliver, coordinate logistics, control quality, and determine employee staffing levels for trade employees.
  • Resolve local area issues related to procedures, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule, and all other appropriate matters.
  • Review the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies.
  • Fully understand all contracts, subcontracts, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and local codes.
  • Ensure that the work is installed following the approved contract documents.
  • Provide oversight of the site safety program and ensure subcontractors comply with all applicable safety codes and regulations and ensure OSHA guidelines are followed.
  • Create a punch list for subcontractors.
  • Mentor and train other employees.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of field experience on commercial construction projects.
  • Proven ability to lead projects with no other on‑site supervision.
  • Understanding of all disciplines on the project site.
  • Ability to represent the company well in meetings and communicate with designers and clients.
  • Ability to review, comment, and edit project schedules.
  • Fully understand all shop drawings and submittals for all project disciplines.
