Project Manager – Mechanical Construction

A nationally recognized mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager
, you will be responsible for leading mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover. You'll oversee every phase of project execution while collaborating with clients, subcontractors, engineers, field leadership, and executive management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position is ideal for a motivated leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, building strong client relationships, and managing large-scale mechanical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of mechanical construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, engineering, fabrication, and field operations to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams while maintaining strong communication with clients and design professionals.
  • Monitor project costs, productivity, change orders, and financial performance to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, and industry partners.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and support the development of future project leadership.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects.
  • Experience delivering large commercial, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects from inception through completion.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
