Red Cedar Homes is seeking an experienced Custom Home Construction Manager to oversee the construction of high-end residential homes across multiple locations. This role is responsible for managing every phase of the custom homebuilding process, from site development through final completion, ensuring each home reflects superior craftsmanship, attention to detail, and an exceptional client experience. This position reports to the Director of Construction.
While site development and pad preparation are typically handled by our Land Development team, this role must be capable of taking a project from A to Z when needed, including pad preparation, house setting, and foundation installation through final delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and capable of managing multiple luxury projects simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
WhatYou'll Do
- Lead all phases of custom home construction, managing each project from start through final delivery
- Take full ownership of projects from A to Z when required, including pad preparation, house setting, and foundation installation
- Manage multiple high-end residential projects within an assigned geographic area
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, artisans, vendors, and trade partners to ensure premium-quality workmanship
- Ensure all construction aligns with architectural plans, interior design specifications, and luxury finish standards
- Maintain detailed project schedules, documentation, and communication through Build Pro; accurate and timely updates are essential
- Monitor budgets and proactively address challenges that may impact cost, quality, or timeline
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure superior craftsmanship, code compliance, and safety standards
- Coordinate inspections, permits, and approvals throughout the construction lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and homeowners to deliver a seamless custom build experience
- Provide consistent communication and updates to clients, ensuring a high-touch, concierge-level service approach
- Lead homeowner orientations, final walkthroughs, punch list completion, and project turnover
- Ensure each home is delivered to the highest standards of quality, design integrity, and client satisfaction
- 3+ years of experience in residential construction management, preferably in custom or luxury homes
- Full-cycle homebuilding capability, including site development, pad preparation, and foundation installation when a project requires it
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or scattered sites simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of high-end residential construction methods, materials, and finishes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and make sound decisions in the field
- Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management software;
Build Pro experience strongly preferred - Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and design documents
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience in custom or luxury homebuilding environments
- Background working directly with discerning homeowners and high-end clients
- Familiarity with elevated finishes, custom features, and specialty trades
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting, and inspection processes
