Role Description The Assistant Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN. This position supports the implementation and monitoring of safety programs on active construction sites, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site safety inspections, assisting with hazard assessments, and helping maintain safety documentation and records. The role also involves coordinating and delivering safety training, supporting accident and incident investigations, and helping to develop corrective action plans.
The Assistant Safety Manager collaborates closely with project managers, field supervisors, and trade partners to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in safety performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety to identify workplace hazards and support risk mitigation on construction projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training to effectively communicate safety procedures, policies, and best practices to diverse teams.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) to support compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in Accident Investigation to assist in root-cause analysis and development of preventive measures.
- Relevant qualifications such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management, or a related field are beneficial.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, or other safety-related credentials are preferred.
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on active construction sites.
- Willingness to be present on job sites, travel locally as needed, and engage in continuous learning in safety practices and regulations.
