About

The Role

As an Estimator in the construction industry, you will play a critical role in the successful planning and execution of construction projects by accurately forecasting the costs involved. Your primary objective will be to analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates that align with client budgets and company goals. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure all aspects of the project are considered in your estimates.

Your work will directly impact project bidding, resource allocation, and financial planning, contributing to the overall profitability and efficiency of construction projects. Additionally, you will continuously update and refine estimating processes to improve accuracy and adapt to changing market conditions and material costs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) from the American Society of Professional Estimators.
  • Experience with project management software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
  • Familiarity with local and federal construction codes and safety regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
