Role Overview

iSuite L.L.C. is seeking a Sheet metal Estimator to join our Preconstruction and Estimating team located in Charlotte, NC. The role requires 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience and focuses on accurately estimating costs for projects in the A/E/C industry.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Analyze each project before it starts and accurately estimate costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant areas based on drawings and specifications.
  • Review and comprehend technical and administrative documents such as Change Orders, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Determine material takeoffs to define quantities of materials needed to complete a system.
  • Determine work crews and production rates for required tasks.
  • Break down the scope of work into definable tasks.
  • Assist in developing bids, scope documents, and proposals.
  • Develop pricing changes to existing projects.
  • Update current pricing and labor in the estimating software on a regular basis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring trust and respect for optimal bid pricing.
  • Operate computerized takeoff programs, including Autodesk ESTmep or Quote Soft, and perform manual entry, digitizer, and on-screen takeoff methods.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computerized takeoff programs such as Auto Desk ESTmep or Quote Soft, and capability for manual entry and on-screen takeoff methods.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems, building products, construction details/design, and industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to develop thorough and accurate estimates and scope of work/proposal documents.
  • Skill to “fill in the gaps” in bidding documents to ensure complete estimates.
  • Independent and collaborative work style.
  • Proficiency with word processors for document creation and moderate proficiency with spreadsheets such as Excel for data manipulation and basic programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of construction accounting and experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
  • Self‑motivated with excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines while multitasking.
