A well-established specialty contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support its continued growth across the Charlotte market and wider Southeast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience across underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, site development or heavy civil construction to take ownership of complex projects while joining a business with a strong regional pipeline.
Projects involve a range of underground infrastructure scopes, including conduit systems, duct banks, manholes, site lighting and directional drilling.
Responsibilities- Manage underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Take responsibility for project schedules, budgets, cost control and overall financial performance
- Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and other project stakeholders
- Read and interpret plans, specifications and construction documents
- Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, quality and safety
- Manage procurement and track material and equipment requirements
- Prepare and review project estimates, budgets and forecasts
- Manage contracts, change orders and project documentation
- Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify project risks and resolve operational issues to maintain schedule and budget
- Provide project reporting and updates to senior leadership
- Previous Project Management experience within construction
- Experience with in underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, site development or heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of construction operations and safety requirements
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules and costs
- Strong subcontractor, supplier and field coordination experience
- Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with construction management software preferred
- Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree beneficial but not required
- Valid driver's license
- Salary up to $150,000, depending on experience
