Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Project & Program Management
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Water) to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating design and construction activities, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders to establish clear objectives, maintain effective communication and resolve issues promptly.
Key responsibilities will include developing and managing project programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement strategies; overseeing feasibility, design development, consenting and construction activities; monitoring progress and performance against agreed milestones; and providing accurate reporting to senior stakeholders. You will lead project governance, contract administration and change control processes, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and value for money. The role will also require you to promote strong health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all project stages, as well as mentor and support less experienced project managers and delivery professionals.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing major water, wastewater or related infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated or complex delivery environment. A strong understanding of project management methodologies, commercial controls, construction contracts, risk management and stakeholder engagement is essential. You will be an assured communicator with excellent negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions in challenging circumstances. A relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, project management, construction or a related discipline is desirable, along with membership of an appropriate professional body.
Experience of working with utilities, public-sector clients, design-and-build arrangements or major capital investment programmes would be advantageous.
