Assistant Project Manager – Multifamily Construction Charlotte Metro, NC (Requires Travel to Hickory, NC) Up to $110,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits
A well-established General Contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join its team in the Charlotte Metro, NC
, supporting the delivery of multifamily and residential construction projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager or experienced Project Engineer with ground-up multifamily experience who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop toward a Project Manager position.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors and ownership throughout the full project lifecycle, with exposure to both the operational and commercial sides of project delivery.
Responsibilities:- Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project delivery
- Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers and owners
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation
- Assist with subcontractor buyout, procurement and contract administration
- Support project budgets, cost tracking and forecasting
- Assist with project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones
- Review drawings, specifications and subcontractor scopes
- Track material procurement and long-lead items
- Attend project meetings and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists and turnover
- Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget
- 2–5+ years of experience with a General Contractor
- Previous ground-up multifamily construction experience strongly preferred
- Experience with apartments, student housing, senior living or mixed-use residential projects
- Background as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement and project documentation
- Exposure to budgeting, cost tracking, subcontractor buyout and scheduling
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
