Our client is a well-established New Zealand infrastructure company specialising in civil construction, regional asset maintenance and water infrastructure. They are seeking experienced road-maintenance professionals to join their operations across Canterbury.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine and cyclic road maintenance activities, including patching, pothole repair, drainage clearing, and vegetation control
Operate and/or assist with heavy machinery and maintenance trucks as required
Conduct road inspections and identify defects or hazards requiring attention
Perform pavement, chipseal, or asphalt repair work as directed
Set up and maintain traffic management controls around live traffic sites
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and site-specific safety plans
Respond to emergency callouts, including outside standard working hours
Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order and report faults promptly
Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members, following instructions accurately
At least two years of verifiable experience in road maintenance, civil construction, or heavy-equipment operation
Demonstrated experience relevant to the specific position
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to work outdoors and undertake physically demanding duties
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively in English
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, overtime, or emergency callouts when required
Current driver’s liscence appropriate to the role
Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, reference, and police checks
Willingness and ability to relocate from the Philippines to Canterbury, New Zealand
Operating graders, excavators, rollers, loaders, or maintenance trucks
Road inspection or cyclic-patrol work
Asphalt, chipseal, drainage, or pavement repairs
Working around live traffic
Recognised heavy-equipment competency certificates
Heavy-vehicle driver’s licence
Previous employment outside the Philippines
