Candidate Profile and Key Responsibilities
The Director of Technical Services position is part of the Worship Ministry of Calvary Church and primarily supports the audiovisual aspects of all worship and special services held at Calvary and related worship activities. Other key responsibilities include providing/ coordinating general technical support as needed throughout the Calvary campus for regular ministry activities.
The Director oversees the Technical Services Assistant, and the part-time and volunteer audiovisual positions involved each Sunday to support our 140-voice choir, 35-piece orchestra, and multiple vocal teams and bands of all ages. The position also oversees the technical staff and volunteers that support our many campus-wide weekly events.
The ideal candidate for Director of Technical Services will exhibit godly character and have a history of effective technical ministry in a church setting. This person would find joy and fulfillment in technical ministry, have a keen eye for detail, and be committed to personal excellence.
He/she would possess an excellent working knowledge of all applicable AVL systems, and be proficient as an audio engineer and video production.
He/she would be effective at recruiting, developing and overseeing church staff and volunteers; able to manage the team to cover the necessary events and activities requiring support (worship services, weddings, funerals, and regular weekly and monthly ministry events).
He/she would be committed to working and serving as a team player alongside other Calvary Directors and staff, possessing a can-do attitude and an ability to adapt as needed.
The Director of Technical Services will be accountable to the Pastor of Worship Ministries. The regular workweek would include supporting Sunday morning worship services, Sunday evening services as scheduled, and Wednesday evening rehearsals and/or activities.
