The Cato Corporation is seeking a Assistant
Stylist to join our Photo Studio team!

Job Summary

Support the styling and preparation of women’s fashion apparel and accessory products for on model and still life photography, ensuring all visuals meet brand standards for eCommerce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with styling and preparation of all apparel on-figure with attention to fit and tailoring.
  • Support styling and preparation of still-life product photography including accessories, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Stylist to ensure styling consistency and visual quality across all images.
  • Stay informed on current fashion trends, styling techniques, and seasonal updates.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Photographer, Lead Stylist, Hair & Makeup Artist, Digital Tech, and Director to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
Other Responsibilities

Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.

Work Experience

2–4 years of professional styling experience in a studio or on-location environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in applied styling techniques for both on-figure and still life photography.
  • Ability to style in a fast-paced, fashion-driven setting with a variety of models.
  • Excellent eye for styling, visual composition and attention to detail.
  • Productivity focused with quick problem solving skills.
  • Good merchandise coordination and set management skills.
  • Enjoys creating a friendly, welcoming environment while working with a rotating mix of models and talent.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative team settings.
  • Open-minded and flexible to changes in creative direction and workflow.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Must have experience working in a professional photography studio or location-based shoots.
