Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Project Designer leads the conceptual and detailed design of projects from inception to completion. This role requires a combination of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver innovative, high‑quality design solutions while coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Responsibilities- Lead design concepts, planning, and development for multiple projects.
- Ensure designs meet client objectives, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, including design milestones, budgets, and schedules.
- Review drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and constructability.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
- Present design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil, etc.) to integrate technical requirements.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and best practices.
- Implement project reviews and design quality checks.
- Proficient use of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, or similar tools.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and project management software is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in project design and management, preferably in a professional design firm.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual and technical design skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and client relations skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and mentor junior staff.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainable design practices.
- Experience with complex or large-scale projects (commercial, institutional, or multi-family residential).
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
