The Department of Solid Tumor Oncology and Investigational Therapeutics is expanding and seeking a board-certified medical oncologist with special interest in/ specializing in melanoma to join its Section of Cutaneous Oncology at the level of Assistant Professor or above. The Cutaneous Oncology section is committed to providing outstanding patient care, through innovative research trials with a strong focus on immunotherapy, to patients with melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other non-melanoma skin cancers.
Responsibilities- Build an outpatient cutaneous malignancy practice based in Charlotte.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that provides a range of therapies, including Mohs micrographic surgery, surgical oncology, reconstructive surgery, dermatologic oncology, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, molecularly targeted therapies, and various forms of immunotherapy.
- Participate in clinical research by developing, conducting and supporting investigator-initiated, cooperative group, or pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials.
- Teaching responsibilities involving oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, in concert with the department's educational programs.
- Shared weekday and weekend hospital coverage with 15 other physicians; contribute to a collegial environment and high-quality clinical care and participation in clinical research.
