Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging math curriculum and lesson plans tailored to middle school students, with a focus on differentiated instruction and multi-sensory learning.
• Effectively teach math concepts up to Algebra I, utilizing various teaching modes and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with the upper school team to ensure a seamless and cohesive learning experience for students.
• Incorporate relevant technology to enhance instruction and support student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods to facilitate remote learning via online platforms when necessary.
• Manage classroom behavior and establish a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with colleagues, students, and parents regarding student performance and needs.
• Participate in departmental, grade-level, school, and parent meetings, contributing to a collaborative and supportive educational community.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 3 to 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle school setting.
• Training or experience in Special Education and a strong commitment to inclusive practices.
• Willingness to attend professional development programs, such as the Orton-Gillingham Educator course and multisensory math training.
• Proficiency in relevant technology and a willingness to obtain Apple Teacher certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Adaptability and a passion for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for all students.
