POSITION OVERVIEW
Charlotte Country Day School seeks an experienced academic coach to support 10th grade students as they continue to transition to upper school. This role is not a content tutoring position. An effective coach will empower students to take ownership of their learning by focusing on organization, time management, study skills, and problem‑solving approaches within their coursework. Coaches must balance guidance with fostering independence, ensuring students develop the skills to succeed on their own.
Successful candidates have experience in education, special education, instructional coaching, counseling, or academic strategy support, with a focus on executive functioning, study skills, and fostering independent learning rather than reteaching content. They should have a strong understanding of organization, time management, self‑regulation, and metacognitive coaching, particularly in supporting students transitioning to upper school. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy mentoring students, building their autonomy, and guiding them toward academic independence.
