Description Of WorkThis is a temporary position. There are no leave or retirement benefits offered. This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount – Nash County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.63. It will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services at 141 Storage Road, Rocky Mount, NC. NC DHHS Division of Public Health – Rocky Mount Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CSDA) is seeking a full‑time Educational Diagnostician to provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant‑Toddler Program.
The selected candidate will meet timelines.
- General knowledge of classroom techniques and academic activities at each educational level.
- Considerable knowledge of educational measurements for children with special learning problems.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices of psychology as applied to children with special problems.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in interpreting tests and appraising children’s activities, making sound recommendations and decisions.
- Ability to prepare concise narrative summaries of diagnostic findings and interpret findings to staff planning conferences.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, and professionals.
Master’s degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of experience as a school psychologist; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
