- Undergraduate instruction:
Doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline. - Graduate instruction:
Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree. - Additional qualifications:
Competence, effectiveness, and capacity in teaching, supported by undergraduate or graduate degrees, related work experience, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, and a documented track record of excellence in teaching and student learning outcomes.
- Develop or update course syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
- Conduct all scheduled class periods and maintain consistent office hours.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Submit completed mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations.
- Maintain a professional and respectful academic climate in accordance with the university’s equal opportunity policies.
