Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction and monitor student progress to determine instructional needs.
- Collaborate with a team of teachers and staff to review progress and adjust instruction to improve learning outcomes.
- Carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principal.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures; align with North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
- Design instruction and assessments that are rigorous, data-informed, and aligned to designated subject areas.
- Use student data to design interventions across multiple classrooms.
- Lead or participate in school wide initiatives and committees as assigned.
- Engage with families and community partners to extend student learning opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree required; NC Professional Educator’s License in the appropriate subject area and grade level.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of high-progress student outcomes in relevant subjects.
- Must be in the CMS Teacher Leader Pathway Talent Pool as an EIT
2. - Ability to lead other adults, plan ahead, set clear expectations, and adapt approaches as needed.
- Strong data literacy to interpret assessment results and drive instruction.
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum standards and instructional strategies.
- Ability to utilize data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate for diverse learners.
- Effective classroom management, communication with students, families, and staff; ability to collaborate and lead professional teams.
- Technology proficiency and the ability to support digital learning where required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of high-progress student outcomes.
- NC Professional Educator’s License in the appropriate subject area and grade level required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Coaching other teachers is not an option in this role.
- Required to teach at least 20% more students than other classrooms of the same grade level or subject at the same school.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation; travel to district buildings and professional meetings may be required.
