Adjunct Education Faculty (Part-Time) - Classroom and Behavioral Management

Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) seeks experienced educators to serve as adjunct faculty for the course EDU 206:
Classroom and Behavioral Management. This is a hybrid, part‑time position located at the John H. Daniel Campus in Keysville, VA (Tuesdays, 11:10 AM – 12:35 PM).

• Provide an overview of strategies for developing positive and inclusive learning environments.
• Emphasize practical methods for managing the diverse needs of students to promote academic success.
• Address techniques for establishing and communicating clear expectations for effective instruction.
• Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high‑quality course materials align with college standards and learning outcomes.
• Maintain engagement through the college’s Canvas Learning Management System for the online portion of the course.
• Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams.
• Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success.

• Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face‑to‑face and online/hybrid modalities.
• Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom, and Canvas Learning Management System.
• Experience working with community college students.
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.

John H. Daniel Campus – Keysville, VA;
Tuesdays, 11:10 AM – 12:35 PM. Hybrid instruction includes both in‑person and online components.

Salary: $793.00 – $1,098.00 per credit, based on qualifying rank.
