The Student Success Librarian supports the Libraries’ mission to empower students for a lifetime of success and impact. As a member of the Teaching, Learning, and Outreach team within LSS , the position works collaboratively with library colleagues and campus partners to develop and deliver outreach, programming, and instruction that connect undergraduate students with the Libraries’ people, services, spaces, and expertise.

Through these efforts, the position helps students develop the information and digital literacies, critical thinking skills, confidence, and sense of belonging needed to succeed academically and thrive as members of the NC State community.

The Student Success Librarian leads the Libraries’ engagement with university programs and events that recruit, welcome, orient, and support students throughout their arrival to and experience at NC State. This includes initiatives such as New Student Orientation, Wolfpack Welcome Week, open houses, and other programs that introduce students to the Libraries and engage them with the people, services, spaces, and expertise that support academic success, creativity, and well-being.

The position coordinates the Libraries’ Personal Librarian Program and works with colleagues across the Libraries and campus to connect students with library services, learning opportunities, and experiential learning environments.

As a member of the Teaching, Learning, and Outreach team, the Student Success Librarian contributes to the Libraries’ instruction program by teaching library instruction sessions for undergraduate courses such as ENG 101 and COM 110.
