Employee performs district-level and school-level work to carry-out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Director of Student Planning and Outreach.

Reports To Director of Student Planning and Outreach Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte
- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.

Essential Functions

  • Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
  • Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote school choice program awareness, increase access, and support of family decision-making
  • Manage the school choice lottery process to ensure transparency and fairness of student selection for specialized programs
  • Effectively communicate with parents and relevant stakeholders regarding the school choice lottery application, selection process, waitlist, etc.
  • Collaborate to provide technical expertise for short- and long-term space planning for both academic and non-academic facilities to support programming needs
  • Monitor and support magnet programs through reporting, school visits, identifying program needs, and planning staff development activities
  • Support schools in the acquisition of resources, connecting with community agencies and higher education institutions, and identifying innovative strategies
  • Maintain consistent, accurate, and reliable internal datasets to inform decision-making
  • Deliver data and analytics, such as those required for the annual Comprehensive Data Review process to support strategic initiatives
  • Conduct market analyses, demographic research, and site assessments to support planning and program development initiatives
  • Analyze enrollment trends, student data, and program demands to inform expansion or modification of school choice offerings
  • Collaborate with schools to develop program documentation, interpret program evaluation data, and report on findings
  • Facilitate community engagement events to address concerns, gather input, and build stronger relationships with the community
  • Apply project management procedures and best practices to student programming planning initiatives
  • Coordinate and lead planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders related to immediate, intermediate, and long-term facility impacts
  • Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
  • Prepare reports, memos, presentations, standard operating procedures, process maps, and other correspondence as requested; maintain related websites
  • Participate in professional development and other meetings
  • Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
  • Perform related work as assigned or required
