You will bring strong coaching instincts, clear communication, reliable follow-through, and the ability to help fellows move from broad goals to concrete action. The goal is to help fellows strengthen and sustain their teaching practice by turning reflection into actionable goals, evidence-based learning, and continued professional growth.

WHAT

YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct individualized 1:1 coaching conversations to help fellows translate broad goals into concrete actions and next steps.
  • Document coaching notes, progress, trends, barriers, and follow-up actions in a timely and organized way.
  • Synthesize common themes across the cohort and share insights with the MD, Alumni Impact to inform monthly cohort spaces and program adjustments.
  • Support fellows in using evidence to reflect on practice, assess progress, and sustain habits that strengthen their teaching over time.
  • Contribute to periodic program evaluation, closeout, and recommendations for future cohort design or support.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the MD, RISE Cohort Coach will spend time communicating with RISE Fellows, planning for coaching conversations, facilitating conversations, synthesizing trends, and keeping the regional team informed on Fellow progress. We anticipate an average of 13 - 17 hours per week spent on this role, with fluctuations at busier and quieter times in the program cycle.

YOUR

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of effective teaching practice, reflective practice, adult learning, and goal-setting processes.
  • Ability to build trust quickly, facilitate asset-based coaching conversations, and support fellows in moving from reflection to action.
  • Experience using evidence, reflections, classroom artifacts, or progress data to guide coaching and identify next steps.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills, including the ability to capture trends, follow-up actions, and cohort-level insights clearly and consistently.
  • Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to manage a portfolio of approximately 25-28 fellows, track multiple coaching cycles, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort collaborating with program leaders, sharing synthesized insights, and informing cohort learning experiences and program improvements.
  • Willing to work evenings and occasional weekend hours.
