Founding Resource Teacher The Goddard School of South Charlotte Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Join Our Founding Team

Opening a brand-new school is a rare opportunity, and we're looking for a truly special educator to help create some of the most memorable experiences in our school.

At The Goddard School of South Charlotte, we believe children learn best through relationships, play, curiosity, movement, creativity, and meaningful experiences. We are committed to creating a school where children thrive, families feel supported, and teachers feel valued.

Unlike a traditional support role, our Resource Teacher serves as the school's creative spark—bringing wonder, excitement, and hands‑on discovery to children across every age group.

This role is ideal for educators who love STEM activities, arts and crafts, sensory experiences, themed events, and turning ordinary moments into extraordinary adventures.

Each week, our Resource Teacher helps bring a unique theme to life, creating engaging experiences and guiding every classroom through special activities that spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

If you've ever dreamed of being the teacher children remember years later—the one who made science magical, transformed cardboard boxes into spaceships, or made learning feel like an adventure—this may be the perfect role for you.

What You'll Do
  • Design and lead engaging weekly themes and enrichment experiences
  • Bring STEM, art, sensory exploration, and hands‑on learning to life
  • Guide each classroom through unique activities tailored to the children's ages and developmental levels
  • Create memorable experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and wonder
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers to extend classroom learning through special projects and experiences
  • Build positive relationships with children across the entire school
  • Help create school-wide events, celebrations, and seasonal activities
  • Support a culture of joyful learning and exploration
  • Maintain health, safety, and licensing standards
Who Thrives Here?
  • Creative, energetic, and imaginative
  • Naturally curious and enthusiastic
  • Passionate about STEM, art, sensory play, and hands‑on learning
  • Comfortable working with children of all ages
  • Flexible and collaborative
  • Positive and growth‑minded
  • Excited to turn everyday moments into meaningful experiences

Bonus points if you're known for having a Pinterest board, a craft closet, or the ability to make science experiments, seasonal themes, and messy art projects feel magical.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet North Carolina licensing requirements.

Experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, educational, art, music, STEM, or enrichment setting is preferred, but we are willing to train exceptional candidates who demonstrate warmth, creativity, professionalism, and a desire to inspire children.

Background check and state requirements apply.

Schedule

Full-time

No nights or weekends

If you are passionate about helping children thrive and excited about creating magical experiences that children will remember for years to come, we would love to meet you.
