Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide high-quality private and group lessons in our retail store. In this role, you'll work directly with students of all ages and skill levels, teaching technique, theory, and performance skills while supporting their musical growth and confidence. You'll create engaging lesson plans, prepare students for recitals and auditions, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

Working closely with store staff, you'll help schedule lessons, support student retention, and recommend instruments and accessories that enhance learning. This position is ideal for musicians and educators who love teaching, value collaboration, and want to advance music education in their community within a mission-driven retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels in-store
  • Develop lesson plans that support student progress in performance, theory, and technique
  • Assess student abilities, set goals, and track progress over time
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
  • Collaborate with store staff to support lesson scheduling and student retention
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
  • Support Music & Arts' mission of music education and community engagement
  • Recommend instruments, accessories, and learning materials to support student needs
  • Participate in occasional events, recitals, or workshops hosted by the store
