Overview

The Department of Public Health and Health Administration (PHHA) is establishing programs in July 2026 by merging the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health and the Department of Health Management and Policy. The department seeks adjunct/part-time faculty to teach various courses in public health and health administration for the 2026-27 academic year, including but not limited to community health, epidemiology, global health, healthcare leadership and ethics, professional development in healthcare, human resources in healthcare, accounting and finance, healthcare quality assessment and performance improvement/lean management, population health/managerial epidemiology, and the US healthcare system.

Selected candidates will be required to provide an official transcript of their highest earned degree and will be subject to a criminal background check.

  Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. Faculty teaching graduate courses: earned doctorate / terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. PRIMARY CONSIDERATION is given to the highest earned degree. Competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including related work experiences, licensure and certifications, honors, and demonstrated teaching excellence, may be considered as appropriate.

UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for adjunct or part-time faculty. These positions are temporary and usually involve teaching a particular course or courses for a specific semester. Responsibilities may include:

• Developing and/or updating course syllabi
• Preparing lectures, projects, and other student assignments
• Meeting all designated class periods
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
• Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner
• Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
