Job Summary:
The after-school teacher at A Better World plays a vital role in providing academic support, enrichment activities, and mentorship to students during after-school hours (3pm-6pm Monday-Friday). There will be anywhere from 5-15 children in your class. Students are fed dinner every evening and teachers are also fed during this time. This position focuses on fostering a positive learning environment, promoting student engagement, and supporting holistic youth development and through Christ.

- Daily Devotional
- Plan and facilitate engaging and age-appropriate activities, lessons, and projects that align with program goals and educational standards.
- Work with leadership for needs in the classroom- pulling lessons from i-ready
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Provide academic support as needed
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and supported.
- Implement positive behavior management strategies to encourage student participation, cooperation, and positive peer interactions.
- Address behavioral issues promptly and collaboratively with program staff and parents.
- Establish positive relationships with students, serving as a mentor and role model.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school personnel to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.
- Maintain open communication with families regarding students' achievements, challenges, and goals.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with program staff to ensure the effective implementation of program activities and goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and program planning sessions.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of program curriculum, goals, and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and behavior incidents.
- Communicate anything that needs to be documented to leadership.
