Role Description The Center Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a Childcare Network center. This role oversees staff scheduling, supervision, and performance, ensures classrooms implement the High Reach curriculum, and maintains a safe, nurturing, and compliant environment for children and families. The Center Director manages enrollment, family communication, and parent engagement initiatives, including tours, conferences, and center events.
Additional responsibilities include budgeting, monitoring center financial performance, coordinating facility maintenance, and ensuring compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare administration, including classroom oversight and curriculum implementation.
- Leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to recruit, train, coach, and support diverse staff teams.
- Strong organizational and operational skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and center compliance management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for engaging families, staff, and community partners.
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing standards, health and safety regulations, and best practices in child development.
- Ability to work on-site full time in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area and adapt to a fast-paced, child-centered environment.
- Relevant education such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Prior experience as a center director, assistant director, or lead teacher in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is strongly preferred.
