The General Education Teacher is responsible for providing engaging standards based instruction within a therapeutic educational environment The teacher works collaboratively with residential clinical and educational staff to support students academic progress behavioral success and overall treatment goals Teachers at Anderson Academy help students reconnect with learning while building confidence resilience self management skills and a positive vision for their future

Instruction & Student Learning Develop and deliver engaging standards based lessons aligned with student academic needs and educational goals

Create daily weekly and long range instructional plans

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students

Utilize assessments classroom data and progress monitoring tools to inform instruction

Develop and maintain emergency lesson plans to ensure continuity of instruction

Foster a classroom culture that promotes respect accountability growth and belonging

Support students in developing executive functioning organization self regulation and problem solving skills

Provide individualized or small group academic support when needed

Maintain appropriate classroom structure routines and expectations

Student Support & Behavioral Health Collaboration Develop positive and therapeutic relationships with students through consistent engagement and support

Implement trauma informed and relationship based practices throughout the school day Promote positive behavioral interventions and help students develop healthy coping skills

Collaborate with therapists residential staff mentors and treatment teams to support student success

Assist with crisis prevention de escalation and therapeutic interventions as appropriate

Model professional behavior emotional regulation and effective communication

Participate in the campus wide relationship based philosophy of care Educational Records & Documentation Maintain accurate educational records and student documentation

Complete required reports progress summaries report cards and educational updates within designated time frames

Assist with educational transition planning and the transfer of records between Anderson Academy and community schools

Update student educational files and maintain required documentation related to educational services

Support compliance with educational standards policies and agency requirements

Team Collaboration Actively participate in staff meetings treatment team meetings Child and Family Team meetings discharge planning meetings and other interdisciplinary meetings as assigned

Collaborate with families guardians school districts and community partners to support student success

Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team Maintain open communication with school administration and leadership

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent

Demonstrated ability to provide instruction classroom management and positive student engagement

Strong communication organization and interpersonal skills
