Primary Purpose of Position
This position develops intensive, focused, and purposeful employer relationships within the Healthcare, Science, and Research sectors, in support of internships, experiential learning opportunities, shadowing, networking, and full-time jobs for students interested in those industries. The majority of this position’s time is dedicated to building and maintaining employer relationships within these assigned sectors. The Assistant Director also manages a team of students who support the broader Employer Engagement team’s employer sourcing and prospecting efforts, helping identify new contacts, target companies, and alumni connections across all industry focus areas.
This position may also serve as instructor of record for up to one academic course per semester, as needed.
- Serves as the primary employer relationship manager for the Healthcare, Science, and Research sectors, developing new relationships with specific outcomes relating to internships, experiential learning opportunities, shadowing, and full-time jobs for students interested in these industries.
- Builds a strong pipeline of employer opportunities related to health, science, and research academic programs.
- Conducts data mining and lead generation for prospective employers relevant to the Healthcare, Science, and Research sectors, including contact with off-campus employers regionally and statewide.
- Works with employers across the Healthcare, Science, and Research sectors, gathering information on employment trends and professional skill needs; shares information with career advising staff and the campus community through trainings, meetings, and marketing.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date employer relationship information in the team’s CRM , consistent with Employer Engagement team standards.
- Represents the Employer Engagement team at Healthcare, Science, and Research industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
- Develops and implements shadowing and informational-interviewing opportunities connecting students to professionals in Healthcare, Science, and Research fields.
