Training Specialist

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a Training Specialist responsible for developing and delivering curricula and instructional programs focused on child welfare and human services. The role involves managing a rigorous training schedule, facilitating in-person and online education, and engaging in curriculum development and community collaboration across North Carolina.

• Deliver training to child welfare workforce in all 100 county DSS offices across North Carolina.
• Develop and deliver curricula for in-person, classroom, and online training environments.
• Facilitate continuing education courses ranging from 1 to 4 days, requiring overnight travel up to 4 nights.
• Engage in team-based course development integrating adult learning principles and best practices.
• Support projects involving facilitation, writing, technical assistance, and implementation support with community organizations.
• Required to have demonstrated experience in both in-person and online training, curriculum development, and writing.
• Must be able to travel regularly with overnight stays and work autonomously under broad direction.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s in Social Work or related field, familiarity with child welfare systems in North Carolina, and experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Articulate Storyline.
• Position is full-time, permanent, remote with a hiring range of $68,000 to $72,100 annually.
• Relevant post-baccalaureate degree required, with substitution possible for a Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
