Job Description:

Join SVCC as a Project Peer Tutor for the Student Support Services (SSS) Program. In this rewarding part‑time role, you will provide individualized and group tutoring to help students build academic confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and achieve their educational goals. Working closely with the Project Director and Advisors, you will support the success of first‑generation, low‑income, and students with disabilities through personalized instruction, encouragement, and connection to learning resources.

The Project Peer Tutor for the Student Support Services (SSS) Program provides targeted academic assistance in core subject areas such as math, science, English, and related disciplines. This position plays a critical role in helping students improve academic performance, master course content, and develop effective learning strategies to enhance persistence and retention.

Working under the supervision of the Project Director, Student Support Services, the tutor will deliver high‑quality academic support both in‑person and virtually, ensuring compliance with federal TRIO requirements and SVCC’s mission of equitable student success.
