Job Summary

The Utility Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing Renu Energy Solutions’ utility coordination efforts across residential and commercial projects. This role focuses on strategic utility relationships, team training and development, internal process improvement, and commercial project support. The Utility Coordinator also serves as a key liaison between Renu and utility providers, ensuring alignment with evolving programs, incentives, and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Team Development
    • Mentor and support utility coordination team members and operations team members through ongoing training, supervision, and development of interconnection standards.
    • Maintain and enhance internal training programs, documentation, and databases.
    • Assist in daily supervision and coordination of the utility coordination team.
  • Utility Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility representatives.
    • Stay informed on regulatory changes, program updates, and interconnection requirements across all relevant utilities.
    • Coordinate and lead annual meetings between Renu and utility companies.
    • Collaborate with third-party organizations to remain up to date on industry and utility changes.
    • Utility interconnection reporting internally - new submissions, PTI’s PTO’s, etc.
  • Strategy & Program Oversight
    • Develop internal strategies for post-sales coordination related to new utility incentives and rebate programs (e.g., Energy Wise, Power Pair).
    • Partner with senior leadership on Virtual Power Plant (VPP) strategies and engagement with utilities, manufacturers, and software partners.
    • Work with operational and field leadership to understand how emerging products and technologies impact utility programs.
    • Collaborate with field teams to troubleshoot and resolve utility-related technical issues during the interconnection process.
    • Residential interconnection submissions.
  • Commercial Project Coordination
    • Manage, submit, and track all commercial interconnection applications.
    • Work closely with commercial project managers to ensure all necessary client documentation is submitted for PTI (Permission to Install) and PTO (Permission to Operate).
    • Coordinate with permitting and inspections teams to ensure timely project completion and PTO.
    • Schedule and coordinate power shutoffs and reconnects with clients, electricians, and project managers during construction phases.
    • Develop and implement internal SOPs and task tracking systems to support scalable commercial interconnection processes.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Partner with sales team members to provide research and guidance on new utility territories and requirements.
    • Serve as a utility subject matter expert across both residential and commercial divisions.
    • Cross-functional coordination with the Operations team on project progress.
Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Possess an eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
