Apex Systems is currently hiring for an Active Directory Engineer with one of our large Banking clients.
Location: Hybrid – CHARLOTTE, NC & DALLAS, TX
Onsite expectation: 3 days onsite per week
Pay range
: $69.54 - $72.54/HR

Job DescriptionSeeking a senior‑level Active Directory Engineer with deep expertise in the inner workings of domain controllers and on‑prem AD infrastructure. This is a true engineering role —
not an AD admin position.
- Exceptional scripting capability using Power Shell (expert level) and some Python
- Strong, hands‑on understanding of the guts and internals of domain controllers
- Experience virtualizing AD‑related applications
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex AD issues end‑to‑end
- Background in fully on‑prem Active Directory environments
- Broader infrastructure environment experience is flexible — focus is on AD depth
- Build, configure, and manage domain controllers
- Join controllers to domains and separate/remove controllers cleanly
- Manage and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Diagnose and recover AD outages
- Understand and optimize AD replication processes
- Patch, maintain, and harden domain controllers
- Support virtualization challenges related to AD components
- Script automation and tooling
- Active Directory Engineering
- Power Shell Scripting
- Experience with Domain Controller Virtualization.
- Experience with Microsoft Hyper
V Management. - Experience building domain controllers
- Experience with Domain Controller Management/Administration
- Experience using Jira
- Experience working in Agile environment.
