Field Services Engineer

Work Location: Remote based in Charlotte, with travel (30-40%)

Job Overview:

The Field Services Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical, electrical, and software issues for our client’s customers. As the primary point of contact for users experiencing technical problems, this role requires strong analytical abilities, clear communication skills, and composure under pressure. This position involves remote support, phone-based assistance, and regular onsite visits to customer locations. It also includes supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, high-quality customer service onsite, over the phone, and online
• Record issues, solutions, and time using the internal ticketing system
• Take ownership of technical problems and collaborate with development teams when needed
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and computer-related diagnostics and repairs
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems
• Install and commission machinery at customer sites
• Maintain strict safety standards for both internal teams and customers
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures
• Identify product improvement opportunities and collaborate with internal teams
• Perform mechanical tasks (assembly, hand/power tools, onsite work)
• Conduct electrical tasks (multimeter use, fault-finding, reading schematics, PLC experience)
• Work independently and collaboratively with management, employees, and suppliers
• Apply strong computer skills; C++ programming experience is a plus

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronics preferred)
• Valid driver’s license for the state/country of operation
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail

Nice to Have:

• Electrical certification or ticket
• Experience servicing or maintaining automated machinery
