Associate Engineering Technician

Job Summary

An Associate Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Charlotte, NC area. This Associate Engineering Technician role requires a diploma or associate degree and at least 2 years of experience to support water infrastructure projects through site development and 3D modeling using Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Micro Station.

Job Type: Contract
Salary: $33.44 - $38.44 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 5pm

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Water & Industrial Water Market Sector.
• Support site development efforts including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, and fencing.
• Develop high-quality engineering deliverables for complex government and community infrastructure projects.
• Create and modify site plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Micro Station.
• Manage specific Civil 3D elements such as alignments, pipe networks, plan/profiles, and sections.
• Develop proposed surfaces and perform grading design using digital modeling tools.
• Perform basic engineering computations, including dimensional checks and material quantity estimates.
• Coordinate deliverables across project groups to minimize errors and design interferences.
• Maintain technical documentation and drawings while ensuring adherence to document control practices.
• Apply company Quality Program standards to ensure all project outputs are accurate and compliant.

• Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station.
• Basic Civil 3D experience with knowledge of alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile, and sections.
• Basic Civil 3D experience with proposed grading and surfaces.

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
