Job Title: VDC/BIM Specialist

We are seeking a detail‑driven and highly motivated VDC/BIM Specialist to support complex, mission‑critical projects within our electrical construction portfolio. You will take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring model accuracy, design coordination, and effective collaboration with engineers, project teams, and field personnel.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of BIM/VDC experience or equivalent technical training
  • At least 1 year of BIM modeling experience in mission‑critical environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications and ability to adapt to new software
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Revit MEP, and Navisworks
  • A genuine desire to learn, grow, and stay current with industry trends and innovations
Key Responsibilities Project Ownership & Coordination
  • Lead BIM/VDC activities on priority projects requiring heightened focus and oversight
  • Communicate effectively across disciplines to resolve design and coordination issues
  • Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the VDC/BIM Manager
  • Keep project stakeholders informed to ensure resources are effectively allocated
Modeling & Documentation
  • Execute model layout, data entry, system coordination, shop drawings, and as‑built documentation
  • Ensure all project workflows (IPD, LOD compliance) meet contractual and owner expectations
  • Maintain strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and emerging BIM technologies
  • Develop accurate 3D models that reflect current materials, dimensions, and design intent
  • Create construction drawings and documentation generated directly from BIM models
  • Produce BIM‑based walk‑throughs and visualization models using Navisworks or similar tools
Design Coordination & Quality Assurance
  • Coordinate electrical system layouts to meet contract documents and Electrical Code requirements
  • Perform clash detection and communicate issues promptly to project teams
  • Support project managers and field teams by providing accurate layout guidance and resolving design conflicts
Design‑Build / Design‑Assist Responsibilities
  • Partner with Engineers and Preconstruction teams to support early‑stage design efforts
  • Assist in developing electrical construction documents, including one‑line diagrams, load calculations, and lighting/power layouts
  • Coordinate closely with the Engineer of Record to confirm constructability for electrical rooms, racking systems, feeder routing, and lighting design
  • Participate in multi‑trade coordination meetings and scheduling efforts
  • Provide on‑site BIM engineering support, verify field installations, and track field changes
  • Extract quantities, bills of materials, and schedules directly from the BIM model
  • Collaborate with vendors to integrate new electrical modeling technologies
  • Maintain accurate and current BIM files accessible to the entire project team

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
