Utility Designer Job Description
The Utility Designer will provide support to project managers, other designers, and utility coordinators by developing utility relocation designs and preparing utility construction plans. This role involves working on municipal and state roadway and infrastructure projects. The candidate will handle multiple complex designs across various projects simultaneously, develop plans, and prepare project specifications and estimates. An extensive understanding of design and drafting techniques is essential, along with experience in utility relocations on roadway and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Develop utility relocation designs and prepare utility construction plans.
- Work with multiple complex designs across various projects simultaneously.
- Develop project specifications and estimates.
- Analyze projects for utility conflicts to determine necessary relocations.
- Analyze Utility Owner as-builts and system maps for survey accuracy.
- Develop permit applications and accompanying documentation for submission to appropriate agencies such as railroads and sewer systems.
- Proficiency in design and drafting techniques.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and Open Roads.
- Ability to develop utility construction plans and profiles.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $45.67/hr.
