Supplier Quality Engineering Intern

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Intern to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The supplier quality engineering intern will support the supplier quality manager in managing materials quality and suppliers’ QMS, utilizing modern quality statistical tools and lean‑manufacturing tools to consistently reduce defective raw materials and provide defect‑free material quality. This role includes hands‑on support in data collection, data analysis, corrective actions management, product/process audit and supplier audit, and lean‑manufacturing improvement activities.

• Support Supplier Quality Claims
  • Assist in coordinating supplier quality issues with operations, suppliers, sourcing, supply chain, and product engineering teams.
  • Help maintain and organize the supplier claim database and contribute to building the supplier quality scorecard.
• Manage Corrective Actions
  • Support tracking, review, and verification of root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) implemented by suppliers.
• Assist With Audits
  • Participate in product, process, and supplier audits.
  • Conduct inspection activities at supplier locations or facility sites as needed.
• Support Material & Specification Reviews
  • Work with the Supplier Quality Manager to review and validate material specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure requirements are fully understood and implemented.
• Contribute to Supplier and Part Qualifications
  • Assist with activities related to onboarding new suppliers and supporting new part qualification and development processes.

• Currently enrolled rising junior or senior students majoring in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, materials science and engineering, or related technical/engineering field (Eligible Grad dates: 8/2026 – 5/2028)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, Minitab, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated work ethic and detail‑orientation and organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Good verbal and written language, communication skills.
• Familiar with quality management and statistical tools and lean‑manufacturing tools.
• Relevant internship or previous work experience
• Leadership experience and relationship‑building skills
