Job DescriptionOverview • $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS
• This position will be based at the Elm City Maintenance Facility working on EC135 aircraft. Candidates should have rotorcraft experience and a background in avionics, with a current A&P license. The role involves performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations on company-operated aircraft and articles in accordance with Air Methods’ policies and procedures. The Elm City location is a small town in Wilson and Nash Counties, North Carolina.

- Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Verifies component and assembly part numbers and serial numbers match documentation upon installation or removal.
- Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and maintenance manuals.
- Actively participates in the continuous improvement phase (level
4) of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with SMS policies, processes, and procedures. - Maintains a clean and professional work area.
- Corrects compliance or safety issues when directed by senior maintenance personnel.
- Advises the Pilot in Command of any maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service.
- Validates or confirms data in status reports for aircraft being worked on.
- Requests aviation parts and supplies to maintain adequate inventory for operational readiness.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Provides on‑call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Maintains regular scheduled attendance.
- Travels 25–50% of the time.
- Periodic travel supports Part 135 operations and company objectives.
- Must live within an hour of the base.
- Employment follows Air Methods’ policies and applicable laws.
- Education & Experience
:
High school diploma or GED and 2–5 years of related experience or training; factory airframe/power plant school preferred. - Licenses
:
Active/current FAA A&P license required. - Operations
: FAR 135 operations preferred.
- Skills
:- Electrical troubleshooting and refined vibration‑balancing.
- Sheet metal and composite repair procedures.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as 337s, service bulletins, ADs.
- Multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Team player with a professional attitude.
- Flexible schedule, including overtime and 24/7 on‑call rotation.
- Efficient use of electronic or paper manuals and vendor data navigation.
- Ability to learn and utilize the company’s ERP system (Ramco).
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Creativity in troubleshooting work.
- Computer Skills
:- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- RAMCO experience preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- FAA A&P License in good standing.
