Position Overview

Corning, a world leader in glass, ceramic, and materials science, seeks a product strategy leader for its Optical Communications segment. The role focuses on delivering product roadmaps for Tier1 Carrier and HSDC DCI cable, enabling business growth through new advantaged cable products.

• Lead collaborative engagement with Commercial, PLM, and Technology to define and execute a product strategy roadmap.
• Execute discovery initiatives to identify advantaged product opportunities and develop techno‑commercial business cases to advance them to the Business Priority List.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert in market analysis, solution positioning, value articulation, and promotional content development.
• Act as the technical interface between Commercial teams and customers to communicate value and support sales.
• Lead Stage3 customer insight research (Voice of Customer) to support commercialization and uncover innovation opportunities.
• Develop application knowledge of Carrier Networks by working with experts and partners; connect Corning products to customer needs.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Ken Temple, Varun Singh, and EMEA) to ensure global specification alignment.
• Represent EN in Carrier Network ART teams; provide market and product evolution guidance to leadership.
• Lead meetings with cross‑functional teams to support existing cable projects, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer problems.

• B.S. in Engineering or Physics (or related field with extensive relevant experience).
• Minimum 5 years total experience in communications or a related engineering‑based industry.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial role (sales, product line management, market development, or sales engineering support).
• Strong communication, networking, and presentation skills; ability to convey complex concepts simply.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial processes (product line management, market analysis, commercialization, value proposition development).
• Experience with development processes such as PPW, MRD, PRD, NPV.
• Proven project and people‑management skills (planning, mobilizing people, driving action, managing progress, measuring performance).
• Desired: MBA or Master’s degree; extensive knowledge of cable design and production; knowledge of network architecture and installation practices in optical cable application spaces (long haul, metro, access, short reach).
• Knowledge of North American telecommunications industry and market.

Approximately 30% domestic travel.

Salary range: $99,375.00–$, based on role and location.
