Environmental Engineer 1 – CDM Smith, Charlotte, NC
CDM Smith is seeking an entry‑level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This role provides recent graduates with the chance to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects and to grow within a dynamic team.
Responsibilities- Conduct site assessments and adjust design parameters as needed.
- Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Collaborate on presentations for client meetings and industry conferences.
- Create documents and presentations using ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software.
- Assist in fieldwork supporting construction‑management activities to gain a comprehensive project lifecycle experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 0 years of experience (entry‑level).
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required (frequency contingent on duties).
- Equivalent directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Basic knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
