Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an experienced Building Automation Systems Specialist II in our Charlotte, NC location.

Primary responsibility is delivering Building Automation System projects. This position is a field-based position where you may perform any number of roles. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers in delivery of any of the following project components: system design/review, software, installation, startup, commissioning, and owner training. The BAS Construction Technician will report directly to the Construction Manager and will be an active participant in the development and implementation of Operations Excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Implement databases, controls sequences, programs, and graphics for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Provide start-up and checkout documentation to the installation team for use in commissioning and validation.
  • Organize and demonstrate required BAS project sequences to meet commissioning agents' requirements.
  • Commission controls installation and verify that control sequences meet specifications.
  • Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
  • Recently graduated from an HVAC program or with a two-year technical degree.
  • Experience installing and repairing technical products and systems at customer sites.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision for routine situations.
  • Two-year (2) degree in a related technical field required or related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as needed.
  • Field experience in the HVAC controls industry; preferably with troubleshooting, maintenance, and service.
  • Technical, hands-on experience with commissioning and programming of DDC controls.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric Eco Struxure BAS is a plus.
  • Highly organized, able to work in a high-paced environment, prioritize tasks to meet schedules given by leadership.
  • Demonstrate ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills and team oriented.
  • Proficiency with writing code for controller sequence of operations.
  • Proficiency with integration protocols (BACnet, Lon Works, Modbus, etc).
